If the shoe doesn’t fit…

Everyone has heard the expression, “If the shoe fits, wear it!”

But, what if the shoe doesn’t fit?

Well, I say, “you adjust it to make it fit!”  In terms of cookie cutters, you may not always have the exact shape that you need to make a particular cookie.  Don’t worry!  You can always adjust shapes to make them work for you.  For example, I knew that I wanted to do a leprechaun foot as part of the St. Patrick’s Day collection in my last post.  But, the closest thing that I had to a shoe, was this Santa boot.

No problem!  I used the boot cookie cutter to cut the initial shape, and then I trimmed it.

That gave me more of the shape that I was looking for, a shoe with a sock in it.  Then, I outlined my desired picture onto the cookie.

Then I flooded it… there you go, I made the shoe fit, and you can too!  🙂

i usually do not decorate cookies for St Patrick’s Day, but that is definitely an incentive. Great idea

Thank you for the idea! I would never have thought of trimming the boot. It is perfect! Where did you get the gold color for the buckle?
